Man in wheelchair dies after being hit by car on Friday
A man has died in hospital after he was hit by a car while crossing Woodroffe Avenue in a wheelchair on Friday morning, according to Ottawa police.
The man, who was in his 50s, was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition with "multi-system trauma and a significant head injury" around 11 a.m. Friday, Ottawa paramedics said.
On Friday evening, police issued an update to media saying that the man's condition had improved and his condition was no longer considered life-threatening.
On Monday, police said the man died over the weekend. His name is not being released at the request of his family.
The collisions unit investigation continues.
No charges had yet been laid on Monday.
