When is Marjorie Taylor Greene up for reelection? Plus, who is challenging the Georgia Rep?

Firebrand Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., is up for reelection this year – along with every other federal representative.

Greene has represented Georgia’s 14th congressional district since 2021. A rural district located in northwest Georgia, it is a mostly solidly Republican district. Greene has gained notoriety as a far-right conservative who has embraced former President Donald Trump as well as conspiracy theories like QAnon and that 9/11 was an inside job.

Most recently, Greene stirred up controversy when she attempted to oust House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., after he helped pass a foreign aid package that sent $95 billion to Ukraine, Israel, Gaza, and the Indo-Pacific; an attempt that ultimately failed.

The general election is on Nov. 5, along with the presidential election.

Will Greene win reelection?

No congressional districts in Georgia are likely to be competitive in November because of the way Republicans have drawn the district lines that keeps their advantage.

In Georgia’s 14th district, this means that Greene is likely to win again. The Cook Political Report, a political forecasting newsletter, lists Greene’s seat as “solid Republican.

This outcome is barring any unanticipated developments, including if Trump picks Greene as his running mate. While not necessarily a leading contender, she campaigned for Trump in Iowa and New Hampshire and has been transparent about her desire for the role.
