Mayflower Mall gun sighting leads to charges
A 35-year-old Sydney, N.S., man faces weapon charges in connection with a lockdown at Mayflower Mall on Tuesday morning.
Police cleared the mall around 9:40 a.m. after people reported seeing a man carrying a gun outside.
Then around 11:45 a.m., police received calls a man with a weapon was walking down Charlotte Street. They arrested him and they say they seized a BB gun.
The suspect is due in court on Wednesday, accused of possessing a dangerous weapon and breaching probation.
He's been remanded to the Cape Breton Correctional Centre until he appears in court.
The man's name has not been released.
