Messi’s Inter Miami is hottest 2024 MLS ticket, sales up 150 times from last February

Messi Mania has not cooled off in 2024, if StubHub ticket sales are any indication.

Inter Miami is the No. 1 in-demand team on StubHub heading into the upcoming MLS season, appearing in all the 25 top-selling games. Ten are home games, 15 are on the road.

Inter Miami’s ticket sales are up 150 times what they were at the start of last season and Miami is currently outselling the second highest-selling team, the LA Galaxy, by 35 percent and doing double the sales of No. 3 New England Revolution.

Sales on StubHub for the entire league have increased by seven times compared to last year at this same time, with sales for every team up from last year. Messi is the driving force.

“The impact of Messi’s arrival to Inter Miami CF continues to be momentous, with increased global demand on StubHub. The surge in sales for Inter Miami, and the league as a whole, are a testament to his legacy as a soccer star,” said Adam Budelli, spokesperson for StubHub. “Messi’s influence extends beyond the confines of his home stadium, driving demand on the road, from buyers all over the world and most especially his native country, Argentina.”

According to information from StubHub, people from 44 countries have bought MLS tickets from their site this year, as compared to just nine at the start of last season. Not surprisingly, Argentina, Messi’s home country, ranks second behind the United States.

The hottest-selling game as of Friday was the Inter Miami road game against the LA Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park on February 25. Tickets for that game range from $250 to $7,820.

The second most in-demand ticket is for Inter Miami at New England Revolution on April 27. The game is at Gillette Stadium, which typically seats 20,000 for soccer games but is expanding to 65,000 capacity for Messi. Tickets start in the $150 range.

Inter Miami opens the 2024 season at home Feb. 21 against Real Salt Lake at DRV PNK Stadium. Tickets for that game range from $105 to $2,500. The average price of tickets sold for Inter Miami’s seven away games in the Top 10 most in-demand games is trending twice as high as the average price of tickets sold for their three home games in the top 10.
