Detectives are appealing for help identifying a man after a gunshot was reportedly fired in Hackney.

The incident happened nearly 11 months ago, on July 7 last year, but nobody has yet been arrested.

On Tuesday, the Met released an image of a man officers want to trace.

Police were called to Homerton Road around 11.40pm following reports of gunfire.

Nobody was injured in the incident, but those involved had left the scene by the time officers arrived.

“A crime scene was established and a bullet casing was recovered,” said a Met spokesperson on Tuesday.

“Detectives from Specialist Crime began an investigation.

“Following extensive enquiries they are now releasing short footage of a man they want to speak to.”

Anyone who can identify the man in the footage is asked to call 101 or post @MetCC ref CAD9672/07JUL23.
