Metro grocery stores pulls beef due to E. coli concerns

Metro grocery stores have pulled all XL Foods Inc. beef products covered by the recall from its shelves.

XL Foods' license was temporarily suspended by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency on Sept. 27 after the E.coli bacteria was found in beef products in the United States.

In a statement released Saturday, the grocer said the measure applies to all Metro stores in Quebec and Ontario, this means all Metro, Metro Plus, Super C, Marché Richelieu and Food Basics will stop carrying XL Foods Inc. beef until the recall is over.
