Michael Zehaf-Bibeau video release supported by MP Wayne Easter

Canadians will soon get a look at the cellphone video made by the gunman who stormed Parliament Hill last October, and MP Wayne Easter says that's a good thing.

Michael Zehaf-Bibeau recorded the video before he shot Corp. Nathan Cirillo at the National War Memorial. RCMP will release the video Friday before a parliamentary committee.

Easter, who represents the P.E.I. riding of Malpeque, said it's important to see the whole thing.

"We can learn things from this video," he said.

"There is no question it was a terrorist act that happened on Parliament Hill. How much was Bibeau inspired by radical elements and terrorist elements? We don't know. It might give us some indication there. And I think it will show us what motivates individuals to do a heinous act such as this."

In the video, Zehaf-Bibeau gives his reasons for attacking Parliament, including a reference to Canadian forces in Muslim countries.
