Michelle Trachtenberg Claps Back at Critics Questioning Her Health and Appearance: 'This Is My Face'
"I have never had plastic surgery I am happy and healthy. Check yourself haters," the 'Gossip Girl' actress wrote on Instagram
Michelle Trachtenberg is setting the record straight on her appearance.
On Sunday, the former Gossip Girl alum, 38, posted a photo on Instagram where she responded to criticisms and comments she's received on previous posts about the way she looks.
"Fun fact. This is my face. Not malnutrition no problems. Why do you have to hate? Get a calendar," the actress captioned the selfie showing of her dip dyed pink hair.
The negative comments began a few days earlier after Trachtenberg posted a similar selfie wearing the same graphic T-shirt and thick eyeliner. "Snake it to make it 💋" Trachtenberg wrote in the picture's caption.

In the comments, people reacted worried and questioned whether the actress was healthy. "Concerned for yellow in your eyes but other than that you are a QUEEN and you’re a wonderful human being who deserves love and joy," one person wrote.
"You’re stunning, but you had buccal fat removal," someone else commented. "Your cheeks suddenly look sucked in, exactly the same way the buccal fat removal in the face/cheeks does to people. You’ve always been beautiful and still are and there’s nothing wrong with getting surgery, but why lie about it?
But Trachtenberg was quick to respond and let her fans and followers know that she is OK.
"I’ve received several comments recently about my appearance. I have never had plastic surgery I am happy and healthy. Check yourself haters," Trachtenberg captioned her next Instagram post.

Last week Trachtenberg also shared a behind-the-scenes picture of getting her hair done alongside actress and singer Alexa PenaVega. In the photo she and PenaVega pose next to each other with towels drapped around their necks.
"These kids….now adults getting our roots/hair done! Love this girl @vegaalexa 🔎💖" she wrote.
Trachtenberg often uses her Instagram feed as a platform to connect with fans and open up about her past.
In 2020, she shared an emotional Valentine's Day post reflecting on being the victim of bullying in her adolescent years.
Though the Buffy the Vampire Slayer star was a successful working child actress, she admitted she still has “scars” to this day from past bullying trauma.
“The kids were cruel. There is no need to harp on the past,” she said. “But I still have scars from being thrown down stairs and slammed into lockers head first.”
In honor of those who are currently being bullied, Trachtenberg wrote in her caption, “I write this to every child, teen, person, out there who is bullied. You are something. Do not put your value in someone else. Not letting them win, is your win.”
