Montreal police arrest man, 22, in connection to homicide in Plateau neighbourhood
Montreal police say they've arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with a homicide that occurred in the city's Plateau-Mont-Royal borough this weekend.
Police did not release the man's identity, but said he is expected to be charged with first-degree murder in court Monday afternoon.
The man is accused in the killing of a 33-year-old man, who was found unconscious and bloodied in an alleyway near the corner of Parc and Mont-Royal avenues early Sunday morning.
First responders performed CPR on him, but soon declared him dead on site. A large perimeter was established in the area, with police setting up a command post and closing off Parc Avenue between Mont-Royal Avenue and Villeneuve Street.
The circumstances surrounding the man's death remain unclear. His death represents the 10th homicide in the city so far this year.
