Moustache Gravy calendar parodies Vancouver men for Movember

A group of moustached Vancouver men is playing up the city’s stereotypes in an effort to raise money for prostate cancer research.

The group, called Moustache Gravy, is releasing a limited edition run of 365 moustache calendars as its contribution to the Movember movement.

Among the men featured are the Yaletown Yuppie, Commercial Drive Creative and the Wreck Beach Free Spirit — as well as the Main St. Hipster, with a special satchel for carrying his growler of craft beer.

"This year's limited edition calendar pays homage to the city of Vancouver and the handsome mo-bros that call it home," the group said in a statement to CBC News.

"Each month cheekily presents a distinctive portrait of a moustached Vancouverite in his natural habitat."

"While prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health issues have each affected them in their own way, they are all bonded by their love of bold moustachery and a genuine desire to improve the lives of their fellow man."

Calendars can be purchased at www.moustachegravy.com for $20 each. The group says 100% of proceeds go to Movember Canada.
