NCAA tourney teams, 16 games on national TV: Here’s Boise State’s basketball schedule

Boise State Broncos forward Tyson Degenhart started every game last season and led the Broncos with 14.1 points a night.

The Boise State men’s basketball team begins the 2023-24 season in a little more than a month.

The Broncos learned Tuesday that they’ll play in front of a national television audience at least 16 times this season as they pursue a third straight NCAA Tournament appearance. Along the way they’ll face several teams that were a part of March Madness with them last season.

Boise State will play one game on CBS, nine on Fox Sports 1 and three on CBS Sports Network. All three games at the ESPN Events Invitational in Orlando, Florida, will air on the ESPN family of networks.

Among the broadcast highlights on this season’s schedule include the Broncos’ nonconference matchup against Saint Mary’s in Idaho Falls (8:30 p.m. Dec. 1, FS1) and a Mountain West showdown against 2022 national runner-up San Diego State (11 a.m. MT Jan. 20, CBS).

Boise State opens its quest for a fifth straight winning season and third straight 20-win season with back-to-back home games against Vanguard (Nov. 7) and San Francisco (Nov. 12), but fans can see the Broncos in action for a public scrimmage at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at ExtraMile Arena.

Among the opponents are a pair of ACC schools, Clemson and Virginia Tech, and in the ESPN event the Broncos also will play either Iowa State or VCU, and then face a team from the other side of the bracket: Penn State, Texas A&M, Florida Atlantic or Butler.

Florida Atlantic was in the Final Four, and Virginia Tech, Texas A&M, Saint Mary’s, VCU, Iowa State and Penn State all made the NCAA tourney. Mountain West teams San Diego State, Utah State and Nevada also were in the field.

Boise State is offering a FleX Pass this season that guarantees a seat to all 16 home games at ExtraMile Arena for $125, or $25 per month. Seats will be assigned on a game-by-game basis prior to each contest. This limited-time offer ends on Oct. 31.

FleX Passes can be purchased by calling the Boise State Athletic Ticket Office at (208) 426-4737 or by logging on to broncosports.com/tickets.
