Olivia Munn secretly weds John Mulaney months after her cancer diagnosis
Olivia Munn and John Mulaney secretly wed in a private ceremony in New York.
The 44-year-old actress and comedian, 44, tied the knot over the weekend at a friend’s home in New York, with only their son and a witness present, according to People magazine.
The pair, who share a two-year-old son named Malcolm Hiệp, said their “I do's” just months after Munn’s breast cancer diagnosis.
In March the star shared news of her battle with the illness on Instagram. She followed up with a post thanking fans for their well wishes.
“I’m really grateful for all the love and support I’ve received about my diagnosis that I shared yesterday,” she wrote.
“Reading your stories and comments has really meant a lot to me and I just wanted to express my gratitude for all of it.”
In May, Mulaney discussed Munn’s battle with cancer during an interview with Vogue. “Olivia and I have been through a lot of things together in the past couple years,” he said.
“Just side-by-side, supporting each other through anything. And as her guy, I felt both scared and protective.
“Even with Malcolm in her lap and me there holding her hand, she was going to be physically fighting this disease alone.”
Munn has also praised Mulaney's unwavering support throughout her illness, telling People magazine: “It would’ve felt like climbing an iceberg without him.
“I don’t think he had a moment to himself, between being an incredibly hands-on father and going to and from the hospital—taking Malcolm to the park, putting him to nap, driving to Cedars-Sinai, hanging out with me, going home, putting Malcolm to bed, coming back to me. And he did it all happily.”
Before his relationship with the actress, Mulaney was married to artist Anna Marie. They split in May 2021 after Mulaney completed a stint in rehab.
At the time, Anna Marie stated: “I am heartbroken that John has decided to end our marriage. I wish him support and success as he continues his recovery.”
Mulaney publicly addressed his new relationship with Munn just four months after his split, during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
“I packed a lot into this… Is it September now?
“I went to rehab in September, I got out in October, I moved out of my home from my ex-wife… Then in the spring I went to Los Angeles and met and started to date a wonderful woman named Olivia.”
He continued: “I got into this relationship that’s been really beautiful with someone incredible who has dealt with the non-coked up Bambi version of me, and that’s been very incredible, and she’s kind of held my hand through that hell. And we’re having a baby together.
“I was nervous when I was about to say the news! I’m going to be a dad. We’re really, really happy.”
