People named him Sexiest Man Alive in 2010, and this year, Hello! Canada included him on its list of 50 Most Beautiful Canadian Stars. But Ryan Reynolds sees himself differently.
In a new interview with Cosmopolitan U.K., the 36-year-old Vancouver native admits he generally feels pretty insecure about his looks.
"I feel like an overweight, pimply-faced kid a lot of the time," he said, according to ET Canada. The "Safe House" star said acting provides an outlet for him to "channel" his anxiety about his appearance because it allows him "to access that insecurity and put it towards something creative."
In the same interview, Reynolds also admitted that he had trouble talking to girls as a kid. Though he was once married to blond bombshell Scarlett Johansson and now makes a home with the equally beautiful Blake Lively, he was not always this fortunate.
"Up until I was, like, 18, I looked like a Vietnamese girl," he said (not true, we have proof!). "I remember it took me a while to actually talk to girls. During elementary school I used to accidentally fall on girls during volleyball practice."
Reynolds's Cosmo U.K. issue hits shelves in October.
