One dead after car hits tree outside Waterford

A 48-year-old from Haldimand was killed in a single-car crash outside Waterford on Tuesday.

The fatal collision happened around 7:30 a.m. on Lutesville Road, which is southwest of the hamlet of Boston.

In an email to The Spectator, Const. Andrew Gamble confirmed the deceased’s vehicle left the road and hit a tree.

Police and paramedics responded but could not save the victim, who died at the scene.

The deceased was the only person in the car, Gamble said.

Police closed the entirety of Lutesville Road, which runs between Old Highway 24 and Angling Road, for the ongoing investigation.

Updates are pending once investigators piece together what happened, Gamble said.
