Update: One dead, one critically injured in morning shooting, Horry County Police say

One person is dead and another suffered critical injuries in a shooting that happened early Tuesday morning, according to Horry County Police.

The shooting happened about 2:35 a.m. near U.S. 701 South and Gurley Road, according to a Facebook post. The two gunshot victims were in a car when police arrived, according to the police report.

Brandi Lilly, 34, of Loris, was shot while riding in the passenger seat of a vehicle on Gurley Road near Highway 701 near Loris, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office.

The driver had three gunshot wounds and was sent to the hospital, the police report stated.

The shooter has not yet been identified or arrested, according to the police report.
