One-time downtown Wichita retailer now can be found in Goddard

Through the years, designer and shop owner Rebecca Simpson has had some pretty prominent Wichita addresses, including Old Town Square and Eaton Place.

She hasn’t had a store, though, since she was within Urban Interiors, and she closed when the store left Eaton Place a couple of years ago.

Simpson moved to Goddard to be near her kids, and she found space to use as a studio but has decided to turn it into a small shop, too.

Reb Boutique Design Studio is at 108 N. Main St. in Goddard near a number of other new and popular businesses along with new housing.

“It’s just kind of growing up a little bit there,” Simpson said.

The store, which will celebrate a grand opening next week, will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Simpson said she’ll be in there working other days and is open to people calling for appointments.

Reb carries Simpson’s work, including clothing, pillows, cushions and what she called upcycled items, such as ponchos made from T-shirts.

She also sells some items she purchases at market that coordinate with what she creates, such as tank tops that go beneath her jean jackets.

Reb also will carry Amy Lea jewelry from Wichita.

Mostly, though, Simpson is using the space for her creations.

“I still have customers who come to me for design work,” she said. “It’s just a little studio I can work out of.”
