Get ready for a windy day in the capital, but the sun should help keep us warm.

Thursday's forecast calls for mainly sunny skies with an east wind at 20 kilometres per hour gusting to 40 km/h.

The high is set to reach 19 C with a moderate UV index of 5.

Tonight, the sky gets cloudy as the wind continues to gust up to 40 km/h. It should lighten in the evening as the low drops to 9 C.

The work and school week ends with mainly cloudy skies and the east wind at 20 km/h late in the morning, as the high reaches 18 C.

October begins on Saturday with a mix of sun and cloud, a 30 per cent chance of showers and a high of 16 C.

Sunday looks cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a high of 18 C.

Early next week will continue to bring temperatures in the high teens.
