P.E.I. – Nova Scotia ferry season to start Friday
Northumberland Ferries says service between Wood Islands, P.E.I. and Caribou, N.S. is expected to resume Friday, May 8 after a delay caused by the late spring weather.
The season was scheduled to begin last Friday, but ice conditions kept the ferries off the water.
The Department of Fisheries and Oceans says coast guard crews are replacing and re-establishing buoys in the Northumberland Strait which the ferries require to operate safely.
Northumberland Ferries will issue another update with specific times for the service on Wednesday.
