The Pac-12 Network is getting into esports.

In its end of year announcement released on Tuesday, the Pac-12 acknowledged students’ “growing interest” in esports. As a result, Pac-12 presidents and chancellors approved a plan to televise esports competitions on the conference network.

“Esports is a natural fit for many of our universities located in the technology and media hubs of the country,” Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott said. “Pac-12 Networks’ commitment to innovation as well as its natural tie to our universities and established media platform make it the perfect organization to develop the framework for esports intercollegiate competition.”

Specific esports and event formats have yet to be decided. However, teams from Pac-12 schools have been competing in Heroes of the Dorm, a collegiate Heroes of the Storm tournament, including Dorm champions Real Dream Team from Arizona State University.

The Pac-12 expects to release more information on esports competition in the coming months.
