This Palmetto High and FAU star is transferring to play for Deion Sanders in Colorado

Palmetto High School’s LaJohntay Wester has found a new home.

After a record-setting season at Florida Atlantic University, Wester is transferring to Colorado to play for head coach Deion Sanders.

A wide receiver and punt returner, Wester had 108 receptions for 1,168 receiving yards and averaged 19.9 yards per punt return. Those three are single-season FAU records, which earned the junior a Football Writers Association First-Team All-American selection.

Additionally, Wester set FAU program records for a career with 252 receptions, 2,703 receiving yards, 21 touchdowns and 5.6 receptions per game.

Deion Sanders’ son, Shedeur, posted Sunday on social media he wanted Wester in Boulder. Shedeur is the Buffaloes’ quarterback.

Wester had previously announced he entered the transfer portal and posted on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, that he was transferring to Colorado.

“I’m coming,” Wester wrote in the post, where he tagged Shedeur Sanders.

Sanders said, “legendary,” in response on X.

Wester was second in the country in receptions and 13th in receiving yards for 2023.
