Part of a road adjacent to a Columbus shopping center will be closed for one week for utility work.

The stretch of Auburn Avenue from Cross County Hill to Birchfield Drive, behind the Publix Supermarket in Cross County Plaza off Macon Road, will be closed for the week of Nov. 6, the Columbus Consolidated Government announced Tuesday.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and request all commuters to take alternative routes during this time,” CCG’s news release says. “We also advise drivers to exercise caution and follow all detour signs and traffic instructions. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this matter.”

CCG suggests anyone with questions about the road closure to call 706-225-4441.
