LaBelle shared the throwback story during an appearance on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show'
Patti LaBelle is sharing a throwback performance story!
Appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show in an episode aired on Wednesday, May 29, LaBelle — who recently celebrated her 80th birthday — revealed that a man once flashed his behind at her during a performance of her hit song “Lady Marmalade.”
“You know when I do ‘Lady Marmalade’ I bring men, I bring people up,” the legendary singer said. “Nobody’s planned in the audience. People always say, ‘She planned that guy.’ Never do I plan who’s coming up.”
LaBelle then went on to recall how a particular man was onstage and “mooned” her.
“So this guy came up and he was all cute and sweet and everything and he came close to me and he turned around and pulled his pants down,” she said as the audience gasped. This prompted Clarkson, 42, to then ask, “And mooned you?”
“Yeah, I kicked his butt,” LaBelle replied as the audience laughed. “I had to but my security did it better. They took him in the back and they did what they had to do.”
“How dare you? He mooned me,” she continued, before Clarkson added, “Don’t come up on Patti’s stage like that.”
