Pavement rehabilitation on Highway 99 will lead to ramp closures in Merced starting Sunday

Caltrans is reminding Merced County residents of ramp closures scheduled next week as part of the Merced 99 Pavement Rehabilitation construction project.

Construction on the Highway 99 project begins June 30 and continues through July 3, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The following ramps will experience full on and off-ramp closures during this time:

North and southbound Childs Avenue overcrossing

North and southbound SR-140/East separation

North and southbound SR-59/Martin Luther King Jr. Way

Southbound SR-99 at 16th Street under-crossing

The following ramps will experience full on-ramp closures during this time:

Southbound SR-99 at G Street under-crossing

Southbound SR-99 at R Street under-crossing

Northbound SR-99 at SR-140/59 (V Street)

Southbound SR-99 at 16th Street

Northbound SR-99 at 16th Street under-crossing

The following ramps will experience full off-ramp closures during this time:

Northbound SR-99 at G Street under-crossing

Northbound SR-99 at R Street under-crossing

Southbound SR-99 at SR-140/59 (V Street)

Northbound SR-99 at 16th Street

A maximum speed of 55 mph is urged to motorists while in construction zones. Motorists should expect delays of 5-10 minutes and when possible use alternate routes.
