Person found dead in Kansas City, Kansas, street. Police take two others into custody

A person was killed and two others detained after a disturbance in a Kansas City, Kansas, neighborhood, a police spokesman said.

Officers responded shortly before 6:30 p.m. Monday to a reported disturbance in the 900 block of Cleveland Avenue where they found a male victim, whose age was not released, dead in the street from what appeared to be blunt trauma, said Officer T.J. Tomasic with the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

Police took two others into custody, calling them persons of interest in the homicide. Further details were not released.

The killing is 14th homicide in Kansas City, Kansas, this year, according to data tracked by The Star. By this time in 2023, there were 12 homicides.
