Planning a 4th of July BBQ? Here’s how much you should expect to spend at Tacoma stores
When we think of the Fourth of July, we think of fireworks, swimming, and cookouts filled with endless hot dogs and hamburgers.
Unfortunately, fireworks are wholly banned in Tacoma except for professional displays. But that doesn’t mean you can’t and shouldn’t have an epic barbecue before heading to the fireworks show along Ruston Way.

The Tacoma News Tribune compared the prices of the most essential foods for your cookout this year at four local grocery stores in Tacoma: Fred Meyer, Safeway, Target, and Walmart.

Using regular prices, we compared the prices of classic Fourth of July essentials between four local grocery stores. Member prices and discounts on items at each grocery store may be cheaper than the regular prices listed below. Each price was based on eight servings, so the total price will vary depending on the number of people attending.
