Police identify man killed in weekend shooting near St. Lawrence Market

Toronto Police have identified a man killed in a weekend shooting near St. Lawrence Market.

Mark Young, 52, of Toronto, was shot at about 12:30 a.m. on Saturday at 25 Henry Lane Terrace, near The Esplanade and Lower Jarvis Street.

When police arrived at the scene, they found Young with several gunshot wounds to his body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Const. David Hopkinson, spokesperson for the Toronto Police Service, said Saturday that there were reports of screaming and yelling in the neighbourhood around the time of the shooting.

Police have not released any information about a suspect, but Det. Sgt. Mike Carbone said the incident has "all the earmarks of a targeted shooting."

But police would not confirm that the shooting is actually targeted.
