Police identify victim of shooting near Rustic Park

Police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting Wednesday near a park in northwest Toronto.

Aiwernogheno Osawe, 34, has been identified as the victim, police said Saturday.

Paramedics were called to Rustic Road, near Jane Street and just south of Highway 401, at 6:30 p.m. ET Wednesday after a man was shot. He was taken to hospital and later pronounced dead.

Police cordoned off much of Rustic Park, as well as several nearby streets, following the shooting. A K9 team was also dispatched to the scene.
