Police are looking for whoever shot two people at a North Miami Beach gas station

A barrage of bullets lay on the ground near a North Miami Beach Marathon Gas Station on Friday night. At least two found their mark.

When police arrived they found a man and a woman each with a bullet wound to the neck.

Both victims were rushed to an area hospital, where the woman died, according to North Miami Beach Officer Corey Darden.

Darden said officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert indicating that 17 rounds had been fired Friday night. As North Miami Beach police officers raced to the area they received a distress call that there were two victims at a Marathon Gas Station at 2201 NE 163rd St. next door to a McDonald’s. NBC6 broadcast video of a black Mercedes-Benz with bullet holes and shattered glass.

Darden said 31 casings were found at Northeast 159th Street and 18th Avenue. That intersection and part of the McDonald’s parking lot were shut down Friday night. The roadways were open by late Saturday morning.

Police have not released the names of the victims and the investigation continues.
