Poll: Which Dade high school athlete should be the Miami Herald’s Player of the Week? (Nov. 19)

Miami-Dade County’s top athletes continued to deliver huge performances last week.

This week, we resume a weekly feature where we ask you to vote for the best performer of the week in Miami-Dade County high school sports.

Below is a look at the five candidates from last week’s action. Take our poll below to cast your vote. The poll will be open until Thursday, Nov. 23, around 10 p.m.

You may vote as often as you like until then.

Here are the candidates from last week’s events:

Ennio Yapoor, Norland, football: Yapoor threw for over 300 yards and five touchdowns and ran for another score to lead the Vikings to a 52-27 win over Monsignor Pace in a Region 4-2M semifinal.

Columbus linebacker Willis McGahee IV (17) recorded five sacks and returned a fumble for a touchdown on Friday night in the Explorers’ 34-20 win over South Dade in a Region 4-4M semifinal at Columbus.

Willis McGahee IV, Columbus, football: McGahee recorded five sacks and recovered a fumble to lead the Explorers to a 34-20 victory over South Dade in a Region 4-4M semifinal.

Zach Katz, True North, football: Katz completed 14 of 17 passes for 322 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Titans to a 48-16 win over Westminster Christian in a Region 4-1M semifinal.

Vy Elo, Miami Beach, girls’ soccer: Elo had a combined three goals and two assists to lead the Hi-Tides to wins over Miami High and Southwest.

Poll: Which Broward high school athlete should be the Miami Herald’s Player of the Week? (Nov. 19)

David “Chuli” Serra, Ransom Everglades, boys’ cross-country: Serra won the Class 2A individual state championship after running a time of 15:19.5. He became the sixth runner in Ransom history to accomplish the feat.

Henry Stark, Palmer Trinity, boys’ cross-country: Stark won the Class 1A state individual championship after running a time of 15:30.8. Stark became the first runner from Palmer since 1987 to win a state title.
