Popular steakhouse chain plans new Manatee County restaurant in growing Bradenton area

LongHorn Steakhouse, known for its western-themed steak offerings, hopes to wrangle a second Bradenton-area restaurant.

Paperwork filed with Manatee County Development Services this week indicates a free-standing LongHorn Steakhouse is planned for the northeast corner of Interstate 75 and State Road 64, home to Marketplace at Heritage Harbour.

Edgewood Properties’ leasing map for Marketplace shows a lease is pending for a 5,479-square-foot casual steakhouse fronting on State Road 64.

Among LongHorn’s offerings are Renegade Sirloin, starting at $16.29, and Outlaw Ribeye, starting at $32.39.

The first LongHorn Steakhouse in Manatee County opened in 2014 in the former Los Cabos Mexican Restaurant space at 4502 14th St. W., Bradenton.

Economic incentives from the 14th Street West Community Redevelopment Agency were used to help bring the chain to Manatee County, according to Bradenton Herald archives.

Another LongHorn Steakhouse coming to Manatee

“We’re really excited about it because LongHorn Steakhouse is a quality employer,” Karen Stewart, the county’s economic development program manager, said in 2013.

In 2019, Bradenton Herald readers listed LongHorn Steakhouse as their favorite steak chain in a Manatee Eats Facebook page survey.

Longhorn Steakhouse, whose motto is “Steak As It Was Meant To Be,” is one of the restaurant brands of the Orlando-based Darden Restaurants group, which operates more than 1,900 restaurants nationwide.

Marketplace at Heritage Harbour is anchored by Costco, which opened in 2019.

It’s also where a 150,000-square-foot Target store is planned.
