Pregnant Princess Sofia and Crown Princess Victoria are radiant at official dinner

Mom-to-be Princess Sofia and her sister-in-law, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, who is also expecting a bundle of joy this spring, turned up the glamour for an appearance at Sweden's Royal Palace on Wednesday (Feb. 3). Now in their third trimesters, the princesses have their growing baby bumps - and their enviable maternity style! - on full display.

Victoria, who is just weeks away from the birth of her second child, looked elegant in an embellished lace gown. The 38-year-old heir to the throne completed her look with a royal sash and tiara, and looked thrilled as she arrived on the arm of her husband, Prince Daniel.

Meanwhile, Sofia dazzled in a floor-length gold sequined gown and brooch, teamed with a sash and the diamond- and emerald-encrusted tiara that was designed especially for her wedding in June. Walking arm in arm with her husband, Prince Carl Philip, the couple looked like stylish and happy parents-to-be.

The royal event was the first official dinner to be hosted by King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia this year, and was attended by friends and family of the king and queen, along with diplomats and political representatives.

"The king and queen give this year's first official dinner at the Royal Palace," a photo on the Swedish royal family's Instagram account was captioned. "Invited guests were selected diplomats, representatives from the parliament and the government, official agencies, sciences, sports, businesses, arts and people the royal family have met during their travels."

News of Sofia's pregnancy was revealed in October, four months after their beautiful summer wedding. In a statement shared on Facebook, Sofia and Carl Philip said, "We are so excited to announce that we are expecting our first child. We are very much looking forward to it."

Both princesses will give birth in the next few months.

The announcement came just weeks after Crown Princess Victoria's happy news was revealed in a statement from the royal household. "Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel are happy to announce that the crown princess is expecting their second child," the statement said. "The birth is expected to take place in March of 2016."
