Prep football: How Clovis North blitzed past Central Valley Christian in a revenge game
Another revenge game checked off the list for The Bee’s No. 2-ranked Clovis North football team.
This time it was No. 14 Central Valley Christian who found out.
The Broncos’ defense was stingy throughout the night, and the offense delivered for Michael Jacot in a 48-14 victory in a nonleague high school game in Visalia on Friday night.
“We knew we were going to be in a battle,” Jacot said. “They’re obviously scoring 50 points a game. We knew we had to eliminate big plays and force them to drive the ball.”
Last season, Clovis North (4-0) lost to the Cavaliers 23-9. The Broncos got revenge on San Joaquin Memorial to start the season, after losing to the Panthers in 2022.
CVC (3-1) had other minds by jumping out to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.
Then the Broncos took over for good.
Clovis North started its scoring after a McKay Madsen 15-yard run in the first quarter. The Broncos scored 27 unanswered points.
Madsen added another touchdown in the third quarter on a 67-yard run and a 7-yard run in the fourth quarter. Clovis North running back Jackson Cinfel had two touchdown runs.
Cavaliers running back Bryson Donelson was limited to one touchdown after starting the season with multiple touchdowns in the first three games.
Jacot admitted last year’s game did weigh on his team’s mind all week.
“This is one of those games we felt like last year, we made a lot of mistakes,” Jacot said. “Our offense, I think, took it a little personal and getting ready for this game, and credit to our offensive staff for really honing in on what we need to get done.”
