Priddis crash: Man dies after swerving to avoid deer southwest of Calgary
One man is dead after he swerved to avoid hitting a deer in a single vehicle rollover this morning near Priddis, which is southwest of Calgary.
The man, in his mid-20s, was pronounced dead at the scene by Priddis paramedics after he was trapped beneath the vehicle when it rolled into a ditch.
The accident happened around 8:40 a.m. MT Monday near 178th Avenue near Coalmine Road.
Two other passengers — a woman in her early 20s and a two-month-old girl — had escaped the vehicle by the time emergency crews arrived.
The woman was able to crawl out of the vehicle and rescue the infant from a carrier seat in the backseat of the SUV.
They were taken to Foothills hospital for treatment and released.
RCMP continue to investigate the accident.
