Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have a fun October ahead!

Kate Middleton and Prince William's three children likely woke up excited on Friday as half-term break begins at Lambrook School. George, 10, Charlotte, 8, and Louis, 5, will have two weeks off from classes during the first break of the first term of the school year. They're set to head back on Oct. 30 just in time for a kid-favorite holiday: Halloween.

Though the Prince and Princess of Wales didn’t release a photo of their kids heading back to Lambrook this year, as snaps are not shared every year to keep school a private and pressure-free space, the trio started school in September and began the break after five weeks of studies. Though they’re growing up royal, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis’ time off will probably look much like their classmates with plenty of family time and relaxed activities.

After a busy two weeks of joint and solo engagements, including a trip to Wales to kick off Black History Month and three days of outings around World Mental Health Day, Prince William and Princess Kate likely slimmed down their schedules to spend extra time with their children during the time off from school as they've done in the past.

Prince William and Princess Kate, both 41, have previously revealed some of the fun that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis enjoy, from baking and cooking in the kitchen to arts and crafts projects. But the family’s favorite hobby of all seems to be spending time outdoors.

In a rare interview with the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast in February 2020, Kate said she was happiest when "I'm with my family outside in the countryside and we're all filthy dirty."

"Someone did ask me the other day, what would you want your children to remember about their childhood?" the royal mom told host Giovanna Fletcher. "And I thought that was a really good question, because actually if you really think about that, is it that I'm sitting down trying to do their maths and spelling homework over the weekend?"

"Or is it the fact that we've gone out and lit a bonfire and sat around trying to cook sausages that hasn't worked because it's too wet?" she continued.

Fans got a glimpse of the family dynamic at The Big Help Out in May, held during King Charles and Queen Camilla’s coronation weekend. The Wales family volunteered at the 3rd Upton Scout Group in Slough to pitch in on various projects, where William coached George on how to use an electric screwdriver and Charlotte playfully kept Louis in line while painting blocks for planters.

"Louis was very enthusiastic and did a good job. He was determined to do it all by himself, and he managed to dig the whole paintbrush in, flick it up, and managed to cover quite a few of us in paint!" Anne Edwards, an adult Scout helper, told PEOPLE at the time with a laugh. "He was doing a good job!"

According to Edwards, “sensible” Charlotte kept an eye on her little brother at his first royal engagement.

"She was advising him, obviously! 'Don't do that, Louis!' — things like that," she said, adding that seeing the Wales children so enthusiastic about the effort was lovely.

"They were very relaxed and joining in, like normal kids. That was what was really nice about it," the volunteer said.

In addition to instilling community values in their kids, Prince William and Princess Kate have also passed down their passion for sports. The Prince and Princess of Wales brought George and Charlotte to watch Wimbledon in May, where the brother and sister eagerly followed the action from their prime spots in the Royal Box. William and Kate have a tennis court at Amner Hall, their country home in Norfolk, plus a trampoline for their kids to play on — where the Princess of Wales recently injured her fingers.

Princess Kate had her right hand taped while participating in a mental fitness workshop organized by SportsAid on Thursday and was first seen with the injury during a visit to a men’s prison on Sept. 12.  Princess Kate first hurt her hand while playing on the trampoline with George, Charlotte, and Louis, and a spokesperson for Kensington Palace confirmed to PEOPLE it is “a small injury, nothing serious.”

The small injury didn't stop her from participating in drills during a Rugby League Inclusivity Day last week or taking on her husband in netball during a mental fitness workshop by charity SportsAid on Thursday.

Prince William and Princess Kate do have a trip scheduled for this weekend. They will both travel to France for the Rugby World Cup — however, they will attend different games. Prince William will attend the game between Wales and Argentina on Saturday, while Princess Kate will watch England play Fiji on Sunday. The couple have a bit of a rugby rivalry — Prince William is the longstanding Patron of the Welsh Rugby Union while Princess Kate is the patron of the Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League, which govern the game in England.
