Race Across the World's reunion is on really soon after the TV show's final. Here's everything you need to know about the unmissable follow-up to the reality TV show.

Race Across the World fans will be delighted to know the reunion will air on BBC One after the final on Wednesday. They will however have to wait 40 minutes between the two episodes.

BBC News at Ten and BBC London News will remain in its usual slot on Wednesday. The Race Across the World final will air at 9pm in its usual weekly slot for an hour. Following on from the news show, the Race Across the World reunion will be on our screens from 10.40pm for a bonus hour of race content as the fourth series comes to an end.

The reunion is filmed six months after the race was completed in Lombok, the Indonesian paradise island which is one of the wildest and most beautiful places in the world. Race Across the World was filmed over 51 days which at times were tough as well as incredibly rewarding.

Viewers will be surprised that Sharon and Brydie return for the reunion episode after they were eliminated earlier in the season. They join in discussions with finalists Alfie and Owen, Eugenie and Isabel, Betty and James as well as Stephen and Viv.

The teams look back on the epic journey and life changing adventure that took them 15,000 kilometres through seven countries. They share the toughest moments of the race and how the life-affirming journey has changed their lives as well as relationships. The BBC also said there would be "shocking revelations made" in the reunion.

Race Across the World's reunion is filmed in London, a far cry away from their astonishing trek around Eastern Asia which started out in the northernmost part of Japan. It also promised to share unseen moments from the race.

Fans will have just watched the Race Across the World final where the four remaining teams compete for the £20,000 prize fund. The final promises tears, drama and racing. It begun with leaders Alfie and Owen just 12 minutes ahead of their rivals Eugenie and Isabel.

They have just completed a trek of nearly 14,000 kilometres as they sped through seven countries over seven weeks. The final week of filming captured the final leg of the race. They make the journey from the penultimate checkpoint in Jakarta to Lombok, one of the most unexplored places in the world.

Their route must take them through the neighbouring island of Bali. To get to Bali, the teams will head through the most populous island in the world Java.

At first on Race Across the World, fans thought Alfie and Owen were "immature" but they soon saw who they really were and they became fan favourites to win. After the race, Owen and Alfie are still the best of friends.

Owen told Yahoo: "We didn't go into the race like needing to learn anything about each other. We're best mates, so we weren't looking to learn stuff about each other. We just wanted to do it because we're best mates. Our relationship is pretty much exactly the same as it was before the race."

Not long after filming the show, James texted Betty making her incredibly proud of him. Race Across the World was tougher than the siblings could prepare for but they had a hugely rewarding experience overall.

Betty told Yahoo: "I think one of my proudest moments actually was coming back from the race and getting a text from James saying, 'I think I might have lied. I actually think I might want to go travelling’. Because before he was like, 'I'm not going travelling. I'm not.' So that made me feel like, yeah, I'm proud of him for that."

The race had a huge impact on the lives of the people taking part. James even changed his plans after competing on show. Instead of going travelling with his friends, the brother moved out of his family home.

He told Yahoo: "I've gained quite a lot from it. Obviously before, I didn't really do much travelling or anything like that. So I planned to go away travelling with my friends at the back end of the year.

"Actually changed that plan and I've now moved out of home. Before I was living with my parents and I moved out. So that's a new thing for me and I don't think I'd have done that without Race and going away. So that's quite a big step."

Plus, Stephen and Viv revealed their big plans for after the show. They plan to take on Canada on an adventure inspired by Race Across the World, except this time they're taking more money and their phones.

Stephen told Yahoo: "There were always certain criteria - you had to have hot water, a proper sit down toilet. We've recognised that we are capable of more diverse things.

"So we are more prepared to just jump on a bus and see what happens. Viv has historically always booked all the holidays. She loves being in charge, so she's always booked everything.

"But we've decided we're going to go to Canada. I'm booking it. We are just going to take a plane journey, hire an RV and go for a month. And that's the most rad thing that we've ever done on holiday. But this time, we will have our phones and some money with us. Makes a difference. We haven't booked it yet!"

Eugenie and Isabel have special plans too as they plan to go backpacking every year going forward for as long as they can. Eugenie told Yahoo: "I've managed to get Isabel to agree for us to go on almost like a backpacking each year, even if it's for a few days. I've managed to get Isabel to agree to that until we'll continue maybe doing that year after year, until the situation is that we can't."
