Rain chances and 88-degree weather on the way for Dallas-Fort Worth. Here’s when

After a sweltering week in Dallas-Fort Worth, rain and cooler temperatures are on the horizon this weekend.

It’s been a hot week in North Texas, with daily temperatures around triple digits and heat index values up to 110 degrees. The region has recorded six days over 100 degrees this year, per National Weather Service Fort Worth records.

A cold front moved through North Texas on Friday morning, bringing temperatures below the 100-degree mark and increasing rain percentages, NWS meteorologist Sarah Barnes said.

Temperatures will be in the low 90s on Friday along with a 20-30% chance of rain throughout the entire day, Barnes said. Rain chances will increase overnight Friday into Saturday at around 30%.

Saturday’s weather will mirror Friday’s as temperatures again will be in the low 90s, with a 20% chance of rain. Temperatures will slightly warm up Sunday to the upper 90s, followed by low storm chances, Barnes said.

Severe weather is not expected with the weekend storms.

North Texas to continue cool down next week

Cooler temperatures and rain chances are expected to continue into early next week.

Temperatures Monday will be in the low 90s with a chance of scattered showers during the day, Barnes said. From Tuesday to Thursday, North Texans may need to break out their coats as temperatures will be in the upper 80s.

Along with the cooler temperatures next week, there’s a chance of rain every single day.

“Looks a little bit better next week in regards to rain, so hopefully that’ll keep us nice and cool,” Barnes said.
