Raleigh police say 13-year-old girl found dead of gunshot wound
A 13-year-old girl was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound at a North Raleigh apartment complex early Monday, police said.
The girl’s body was discovered in the 1900 block of North Hills Drive after officers responded to a call at 2:36 a.m.
The shooting happened at North Hills Apartments near Crabtree Valley Mall, according to ABC11, The News & Observer’s news-gathering partner.
The girl’s name will not be released due to her age, Lt. Jason Borneo said in a Monday news release. The death investigation continues, and no suspects are in custody.
The 1900 block of North Hills Drive sits just off the I-440 Beltline near its intersection with Glenwood Avenue.
