RCMP shooting near Edmonton leaves one man dead
RCMP continue to investigate on a rural property where a man was killed following an officer-involved shooting last night.
According to the RCMP, officers were called to a "person in distress" event near Range Road 263 and Highway 264. At some point an RCMP weapon was fired, resulting in the death.
Officers appeared to focus their efforts on a field on the property and have deployed drones to help them search the property. The RCMP says there is no threat to the public.
There are no further details at this point.
The Alberta Serious Response Team has been brought in to investigate the incident.
