Are you ready to vote? Here’s what you need to know with local elections a month away.

Voters in Horry County’s cities and towns next month will decide on their next slate of elected officials, including competitive mayoral in its largest communities.

Here’s a rundown of everything you need to know ahead of the Nov. 7 general election, when polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

If you’re not registered to vote, there’s still time — but not much.

The deadline to sign up is noon on Oct. 8, which can be done by visiting SCVotes.com or in person at the county’s elections headquarters at 1515 4th Ave. in Conway.

Voters must have a valid S.C. driver’s license or state-issued identification card. Addresses can be updated through the state Department of Motor Vehicles’ website.

Absentee ballots must be received by Oct. 27, with emergency ballot requests available between Nov. 3 and Nov. 7.

Early voting runs from Oct. 23 to Nov. 4 for the nonpartisan municipal races.
