Former Jungle Jim's employee arrested, charged after protest in parking lot
A former employee at a Jungle Jim's restaurant on Torbay Road in St. John's was arrested Monday evening after protesting in the parking lot throughout the day.
Police were called to the restaurant around 4 p.m., after reports of an "ongoing protest" at the business.
According to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, the 26-year-old woman was upset, and officers were told she had committed several crimes.
The woman posted several live videos from the parking lot on Facebook on Monday, including one where she is seen being put into the back of a police cruiser.
She also posted a series of photos and videos over the weekend, claiming she and other restaurant employees had been treated unfairly.
The RNC said that, after an investigation, the woman was arrested and charged with mischief to property, causing a disturbance, common assault and theft under $5,000.
She was held in jail overnight and will appear in court on Tuesday.
