Though the Golden State Warriors have won all three games of the Western Conference finals thus far against Portland, the series is taking its toll on both teams. On Sunday, Trail Blazers star guard Damian Lillard confirmed that he is playing with separated ribs on his left side, an injury that he says likely occurred in the third quarter in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals when Warriors big man Kevon Looney fell on him during a scramble for the ball.

Johnson completes runner-up grand slam at PGA Championship

Dustin Johnson narrowly missed out on winning his second career major at the PGA Championship on Sunday but in doing so he joined some very select company by completing the career runner-up grand slam. Johnson, who finished two shots behind Brooks Koepka at Bethpage Black, has now claimed a runner-up finish in each major after finishing second at last month's Masters, the 2015 U.S. Open and 2011 British Open.

Raptors earn pivotal double-OT win over Bucks

TORONTO -- The Toronto Raptors knew they needed to play tougher than they had in losing the first two games to the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference finals. They played tough and they played long as well, needing two overtimes to outlast the Bucks 118-112 Sunday night with Kawhi Leonard leading all scorers with 36 points.

Motor racing: Former F1 champion Alonso fails to qualify for Indy 500

Former Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso failed to qualify for the Indianapolis 500 when he finished fourth fastest in a six-car last-row shootout on Sunday. The Spaniard needed to be in the top three to make the 33-car field for the May 26 race. He had missed qualifying in his McLaren-prepared Chevrolet on Saturday.

MLB notebook: Astros lose Springer to injury

Houston Astros All-Star outfielder George Springer will miss Monday's game and is day-to-day with lower back stiffness, manager AJ Hinch said after Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Boston Red Sox.
