Rita Ora won't rush her new album
Rita Ora is taking her new album "one song at a time".
The 33-year-old singer has been busy working on the follow-up to 2023's record 'You And I' - which was her third studio album to date and peaked at number six in the UK album chart - but she suggested fans could be waiting a little while to hear the new collection.
She told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: "The album is going really well. I’m taking it just one song at a time to be honest.
“I’m not sure it will be ready for this year though. But the great thing about my label [BMG] is that I have the time and they are really chill like that.”
She has still been treating fans to new material, having recently dropped her single 'Ask And You Shall Receive'.
Her latest album, 'You And I', was heavily inspired by her relationship with Hollywood star Taika Waititi - and their 2022 wedding.
However, she wants to move on from that as her source of inspiration, and instead find a different spark for her music.
She explained: "I’m a bit bored of that now [as inspiration].
“I want my music to move on, have fun and do what makes me feel good.
“If it doesn’t make me feel good, I’m not doing it, and I’ve found that very liberating.”
'Ask And You Shall Receive' was co-written by Raye, and Rita recently described the track as a "full circle moment".
She said: "The song is full of upbeat, summery vibes and is about seizing the moment romantically, and diving straight in with that special someone.
"It was co-written by the amazing Raye, which feels like such a full circle moment, as I have so many amazing memories from when we were on the road together for the Phoenix tour."
Rita's new music video was shot in a 24-hour laundromat in Los Angeles, and the concept was inspired by the iconic 1985 Levis commercial starring Nick Kamen.
