The latest Russian energy attacks have caused losses of more than $1 billion

Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko warned of significant challenges for the energy system due to recent Russian attacks on infrastructure during a televised address.

"Today, we are discussing losses exceeding a billion dollars. With ongoing attacks, it's evident losses will escalate," the minister stated.

The attacks targeted heat, hydro generation, and electricity transmission systems, with daily assaults persisting on energy facilities using drones, ballistics, or artillery.

"The system is stable now, but the situation remains challenging," the minister stated.

He noted that current favorable weather conditions allow for balancing the energy system with Renewable Energy Sources (RES) capacities.

In oblasts like Kharkiv, facing daily enemy fire, electricity supply restrictions are in place. Efforts are underway to stabilize and prepare for the autumn-winter period.

International partners are assisting in restoration, repair, and increasing shunting generation capacities.
