Santa Claus is coming to town

Santa Claus is coming to town

It's Santa Claus's busiest time of year, but he's making time to stop by Montreal for the city's annual parade.

Santa will be joined by his reindeer, of course, the Christmas Fairy and more than 20 floats as they all go along Ste-Catherine Street West.

The parade kicks off at 11 a.m., at the corner of Fort Street. It will last about two hours, ending at the corner of Saint-Urbain Street.

There will also be artists, musicians, dancers and street performers taking part in the festivities.

Bundle up

The weather forecast is calling for chilly conditions and precipitation just in time for Santa, so don't forget your tuque.

- Saturday: Cloudy with showers or flurries beginning around noon. High near 2 C.

Getting around

To get to the parade, you can take the Metro and get off at either Peel or McGill stations on the Green line.

If you prefer to drive the little ones to the festivities, parking is available at the following locations:

- Place Ville Marie (entrance Cathcart and McGill College): $8 per day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

- Cours Mont Royal (1455 Metcalfe Street, level P3): $8 from 7 a.m. to midnight

During the parade, some streets in the downtown core will be closed. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
