School rezoning letters going home Tuesday

By the numbers: A P.E.I. back-to-school primer

Parents of students in 13 P.E.I. schools will receive a letter Tuesday outlining rezoning plans.

The schools on the list include many Charlottetown and east of the capital.

The Public Schools Branch says the letters will outline for parents where their child will go to school next year. The letters will need to be signed and returned to the school by May 1.

A second series of letters will be issued on Thursday to parents of students not included in the 13 schools on Tuesday's list.

The rezoning is part of a school infrastructure review process that started in September. Some schools were threatened with closure as part of the process, but in the end the government decided not to close any schools.
