2 dead in single-vehicle crash near Inverness

Two men are dead following a single-vehicle accident near Inverness, N.S., early Sunday.

According to a news release, RCMP were called to a crash in Strathlorne, about six kilometres south of Inverness, around 5:45 a.m.

When emergency personnel arrived they found a Honda Civic off the road with extensive damage.

One man had been thrown from the car and another man had been partially ejected.

A 24-year-old man and a 30-year-old man, both from Cape Breton, were declared dead at the scene.

A section of Highway 19 was closed for several hours until about 2:30 p.m.

An investigation is underway.
