Serious collision in Tilbury injures multiple people

A serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Queens Line and Merlin Road resulted in multiple injuries. Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene at approximately 8:55 p.m. following reports of the crash involving two vehicles.

The collision occurred when a vehicle traveling westbound on Queens Line turned south onto Merlin Road and collided with an eastbound vehicle. The impact caused one of the vehicles to veer off the roadway and come to rest in a ditch at the southeast corner of the intersection. The other vehicle remained in the eastbound lane, facing west.

The westbound vehicle was carrying a total of six individuals, while the eastbound vehicle had only one driver. The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) response was crucial in this situation. They transported six people to hospitals for immediate medical attention. One person was airlifted to a hospital in London, Ontario, and two others were transported by land to neighbouring hospitals—one to London and one to Windsor.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service Traffic Unit has launched an investigation into the incident.
