The Michigan mother assumed a false identity and for almost two years harassed her own daughter and her daughter’s boyfriend.

Then Kendra Gail Licari accompanied her daughter to report the bullying to authorities.

And now Licari’s case is being made into a Lifetime original movie, the network confirms to PEOPLE, saying Mommy Meanest – starring Lisa Rinna and Briana Skye and premiering Saturday, May 11 at 8/7 C and streaming the next day – is inspired by Licari “and other cases similar to it.” (Rinna’s real-life daughter, Delilah Hamlin, plays Mia’s friend, Summer in the first movie in which the mother/ daughter team appear together.)

Last year, Licari pleaded guilty to two counts of stalking a minor and was sentenced to between 19 months and five years behind bars, per The Morning Sun.

Investigators compiled 349 pages of “demeaning, demoralizing, and just mean texts,” and direct messages on social media, Isabella County Prosecutor David Barberi told Local 12.

Licari used software that helped her hide her location and used multiple numbers with area codes suggesting her daughter’s own friends were to blame for the texts, according to the criminal complaint obtained by the outlet.

Likening it to “cyber Munchausen's syndrome,” Barberi told Local 12 that such bullying “seems to be the type of behavior where you're making somebody feel bad – or need you in their life – because of this behavior.”

Because Licari’s plea deal precluded a criminal trial, the mother’s reasoning behind targeting her own daughter remains a mystery. But Mommy Meanest reimagines those motivations.

In the movie, divorced mom Madelyn – the fictional version of Licari, played by Rinna – feels replaced by her daughter’s new boyfriend.

So, as her daughter, Mia (played by Skye) prepares to leave for college, Madelyn decides to take matters into her own hands, squashing her daughter’s newfound independence with degrading text messages designed to bring the two closer as the protective mother launches her own investigation into the bullying.

But as the cyber-threats increase, Mia begins to suspect the unimaginable truth.

Mommy Meanest premieres Saturday, May 11 at 8/7C and streams the next day on MyLifetime.com.
