Police say no one was injured in the drive-by shooting that is believed to be targeted. The gunshots shattered a window and left patrons shaken.
Staff Sgt. Paul Bois, spokesperson for 31 Division of Toronto Police Service, said police received the call about the gunfire that damaged Planet Fitness, 1 York Gate Blvd., in Yorkgate Mall, near Jane Street and Finch Avenue West, at about 11:30 p.m.
"It was operating and people were working out inside," Bois said Saturday.
Bois said police believe a man walking outside the gym was the intended target of the shooting. The man, who was uninjured, told police that a vehicle had been following him.
The shots were fired from a car, believed to be dark in colour and four door. The suspect fled in the vehicle.

Bois said police taped off the gym as they collected evidence but officers are no longer at the scene.
Police were called to at least two other locations for the sound of gunshots on Friday night.
