Son charged in Windsor woman's killing

Windsor police say a 40-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder after his mother was found dead in her Oak Avenue home.

Windsor police say that a 40-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder after his mother was found dead inside her home.

Jason Coffey was arrested hours after his mother, Florence Coffey, 63, was found dead inside her Oak Avenue home on Friday.

Police say Coffey was arrested without incident. He subsequently appeared in court and was arraigned on the first-degree murder charge.

Police are not seeking any other suspects.

The cause of death has not yet been released. However, police say a post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place in London on Sunday.
